A vintage movie poster reproduction of ''Captains Courageous'' - a 1937 American adventure film directed by Victor Fleming, based on Rudyard Kipling's 1897 novel of the same name. The film features an ensemble cast, with Spencer Tracy in the lead role, and it is known for its heartfelt and moving portrayal of a young boy's coming-of-age journey at sea.
The story centers around Harvey Cheyne Jr. (played by Freddie Bartholomew), a spoiled and arrogant young boy from a wealthy family. While traveling by ocean liner, Harvey falls overboard and is rescued by a Portuguese-American fisherman named Manuel (played by Spencer Tracy). Harvey is initially unhappy about being aboard a fishing schooner, but he soon realizes that he must earn his keep and learn the ways of the sea in order to survive.
